It’s time to get funky with the calypso as Zumba Education Specialist Donna Giffen shows how to work those arms and thighs.
Zumba® Fitness classes are an increasingly popular way to exercise and Donna’s video guides give you a taste of what you can expect if you attend.
Before you get ready to funk up your calypso, make sure you do a five minute warm-up. You can watch Donna’s warm-up guide here.
In the video player above, Donna demonstrates the funky calypso, which looks like great fun – just remember to close your curtains if you’re practicing in the living room!
The important thing to remember about Zumba® Fitness is that you don’t have to be a dance master or the king or queen of co-ordination to work out.
As Donna explains, it’s about adding your own ‘flavour’ to the basic steps.
Donna has also demonstrated how to perfect the merengue and salsa in previous clips, plus, if you’ve missed the basic calypso guide, you can watch that now.
Post exercise, remember to cool down and finish with some stretches for the main muscle groups including legs, chest back and arms.
