Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts has revealed that he admires Simon Cowell because he speaks his mind.
Potts, who was catapulted to international fame after his amazing audition performance of Nessun Dorma in 2007, told Digital Spy that he appreciated the opinion of the music mogul.
Paul revealed that Cowell has said that he is "really, really happy" with his second album, Passione, which is scheduled to be released on June 1.
Potts said: "I speak to Simon reasonably regularly. He is a very busy man so we don't get to meet up in person all that often, but we do chat quite a lot.
"He has told me that he is really, really happy with this album and said that I should be really proud of the work that I've done in the last few years."
He added: "It's always great to get feedback from Simon because he always tells it like it is.
"It's important that people tell you what they really think about music, because no praise at all is better than false praise. Simon doesn't give cheap praise, so when he does compliment you it's a really good thing to come across."
Potts also revealed that he has held discussions with movie bosses at Paramount to discuss a possible film about his amazing life story.
He said: "I met some guys from Paramount when I was in LA and they seem pretty serious about it."
He added: "I never assume anything until it actually happens and it is still in the fairly early stages at the moment."
