American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has suggested that Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle could appear in a guest slot on the US show.
Ryan posted a `tweet' on the social networking site Twitter that said he thought it would be "a genius idea" if Simon Cowell were to arrange an American performance for Boyle.
Boylemania has spread across the US and her audition clip has been seen more than 120million times worldwide.
Seacrest responded to a tweet from a fan who suggested that it would be a coup if the Scots singer appeared on the hit US talent show.
He wrote: "Genius idea... I'm gonna shoot email to producers now.
"So when is American Idol going to have Susan Boyle on as a musical guest?"
A show source told the Daily Mirror: "If she is not on Idol before this series ends in May, she will probably end up there next year as the BGT winner.
"It would give the show a ratings boost."
Meanwhile, Susan has denied reports that claimed that she has threatened to quit Britain's Got Talent.
It has been claimed that Boyle had rowed with show producers over the restrictive nature of her contract which prevents her from singing until after the end of the current series.
However, Susan told The Sun that this rumour was false.
She said: "There is absolutely no truth in that.
"There is no way I am quitting the show. The only way I'd leave the show is if Simon Cowell kicked me out!
"I'm not going anywhere - I just want to concentrate on my singing."
