Britain's Got Talent's latest singing sensation Susan Boyle has said that she was shocked at how bad she looked on the TV screen.
The 47-year-old spinster from West Lothian told the Daily Mirror that she thought that the television cameras had made her look like a "garage".
She said: "They say that television makes you look fat and it certainly did.
"I looked like a garage. It was mortifying to see and a bit of a shock. I didn't realise I could reduce people to tears and I hope it wasn't because of that."
Susan, who stunned the judging panel with her rendition of the song "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables, said that she had received a standing ovation from the congregation of her local Catholic church on Easter Sunday.
She said: "It was incredible. Although we sing in church, not a lot of them knew how good I was, so it was a bit of a shock to them. I'm a bit shy and retiring so they would never have known. It was very emotional.
"Everyone is very nice and it's lovely when all the kids stop me in the street to congratulate me."
She added: "I'm proud to be part of the show. It really is a dream come true."
Piers Morgan told The Sun that Simon Cowell already has plans to turn Susan into the next Paul Potts.
Piers said: "As I watched Susan's performance back, I texted Simon in Hollywood: `My god, she was even better than I remembered -- she's unbelievable'.
"He agreed, and I could feel his beady eyes going `kerching!'.
"For, unless I am a brainless aardvark, then this West Lothian villager is going to sell a lot of records."
