Nicole Scherzinger had said she was annoyed at One Direction for upstaging her at her own film premiere.
Scherzinger helped to put the boyband together when she was a guest judge on The X Factor.
However, she said they had "no shame", as their fans put her in the shade at the New York premiere of Men In Black 3.
She told The People: "It's totally weird seeing One Direction as the heartthrobs of the nation.
"I had my Men In Black movie premiere and they practically stole the show from me.
"I was like 'excuse me, I'm in the movie, scoot over, thank you'. I had to remind them."
Nicole helped put solo singers Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne together when she stepped in as a guest judge in 2010.
One Direction did not win the series but still managed to become a worldwide success with number one hits in the UK, America and Australia.
The lads were also chosen as one of the acts to perform at the Olympic closing ceremony.
However, Nicole says the boys have still not thanked her for her part in their success.
She said: "Those little buggers, I haven't received flowers from them yet. I'm still waiting, it's crazy to see how massive they all are."
Nicole has joined Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos as a permanent judge.
The former Pussycat Doll does not think the success of One Direction can be repeated.
She said: "I don't know if we can find another One Direction. That was really crazy, I'm still blown away by it.
"They performed at the Olympics, I'm like 'what is happening, this is crazy'. I'm really happy for them and all of their success."
