Gary Barlow has reportedly decided that he will appear at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics despite his personal tragedy.
Last week, Barlow announced that he and wife Dawn's baby, Poppy, had been stillborn.
The X Factor judge has thanked fans for their "overwhelming" support.
His band Take That remain on the bill to play at Sunday's closing ceremony.
A source told The Sun: "Gary is going through a terrible time. The last week has been awful - as everyone can understand.
"The band have been there for him and totally understand if he doesn't do the gig."
He added: "Take That are on the running order and the organisers are prepared for all eventualities.
"But they all know Gary will be determined to perform."
The group are keen to appear, despite having no rehearsal time following Barlow's devastating news.
The insider added: "They haven't rehearsed this week for obvious reasons but they are professionals and can turn it on under pressure.
"It will be a tough call for Gary but everyone will back his decision."
