Superstar is about to hit TV screens in just over a week's time, and we can now share the official trailer for the show – as well as the first official snap of the all-star judging panel.
Legendary composer Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, comedienne and actress Dawn French and stage and screen star Jason Donovan have all signed up for the brand new show, which hunts for the perfect person to play of Jesus in a new production of musical Jesus Christ Superstar.
Earlier this year, Andrew set out on the road alongside his handy helpers, theatre and television casting director David Grindrod, Jason, and singer Melanie C – who will play Mary Magdalene in the arena tour.
They watched as hopefuls travelled far and wide to audition, in the hope of having a chance to compete for the coveted role.
Now Andrew is to be joined by his trusty panel of judges, Dawn and Jason, who have both previously spoken about their excitement at finding the next big star.
“I’m gagging to find Jesus with the help of the Good Lord,” Dawn said. “I have actually been searching for him my whole life, and I can’t believe that inside a few weeks we are going to find him.”
Jason added: “We have unearthed some cracking talent so far and I’m really pleased I’ve had time to get to know the finalists as we’ve moved through the competition stages", he said.
The hunt for the next big Superstar will kick off on Saturday July 7 - don't miss it!
