X Factor judge Louis Walsh is clearly enjoying having newbie Nicole Scherzinger on the panel, revealing that he thinks the stunning star “lights up” the show.

Nicole was confirmed as the fourth judge on X Factor last week, and she brings a wealth of experience with her, having previously worked as a guest judge on the UK show, as well as being a judge on the USA version.

Audiences were left guessing for weeks about who might replace Kelly Rowland in the vacant slot, with Geri Halliwell, Rita Ora and Leona Lewis all standing in as temporary judges.

But Louis is quite clearly rather happy with the final decision, saying of Nicole: "She brings something different and she lights up the screen."

Meanwhile, the Irish personality may be loving his time on X Factor, but the music mogul revealed he’s feeling a tinge of sadness in other areas of his career, as the boy band he manages Westlife, bow out of the industry this weekend.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, he said: Will there be tears from me at the weekend? Yeah. I have never known a band like this and we have had an amazing time.

“I have never known a band like this and we have had an amazing time. I have never known a band and a manager get on as well as we do.”

Earlier this week it emerged that Westlife were given a tongue-in-cheek present as they played their farewell tour at the SECC in Glasgow – engraved bar stools.

The boys became famous for sitting on stools while belting out their ballads, and the venue thought it would be a fitting way to say goodbye to the band.

Allan Snedden, head of concert and event sales at the SECC, said: "Over the years, Westlife have sold the biggest number of tickets of any act to take place at the SECC and we could not let their farewell gig here pass without marking this amazing feat.

"The seats outside which are synonymous with the band's live acts will be lasting testimony to the enjoyment Westlife has given to thousands of fans here."
