Gary Barlow has praised new X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger.

Scherzinger joins Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos on the panel of the reality TV singing contest.

The Take That singer said Nicole was the best of the guest judges, which included Geri Halliwell, Leona Lewis and Anastacia.

Barlow told The Sun: "I'm made up. I thought all the guest judges were excellent but she had the edge.

"She's exciting, has years of experience and was great on the US X Factor."

Nicole was confirmed as the fourth judge on the show last week.

Following the announcement Scherzinger said: "I'm so excited to join the UK X Factor family.

"It's where I got my start, so it feels great to come full circle. I can't wait to see what talent the UK has to offer and to help inspire and bring out the best in these artists."
