Nicole Scherzinger drew admiring glances as the sexy singer officially joined The X Factor for her first day’s work after being confirmed as the fourth judge on the show.

Sizzling in a striking above-the-knee teal dress which showed off her curves and famous pins, the Hawaiian-born star injected a spot of glamour to the auditions in Newcastle today.

Nic looked right at home as she worked the crowds into a frenzy as she walked the red carpet.

And it’s no surprise that she looked quite so settled; after all, the star has previously worked as a guest judge on X Factor in 2010, standing in for Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue.

She was also a permanent judge during the first season of X Factor USA, so she has plenty of experience and knowledge to draw on, when it comes to judging the hopefuls.

In recent weeks there has been much speculation about who might make the cut as the fourth judge alongside Tulisa Contostavlos, Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow.

Guest judges including Geri Halliwell, Rita Ora and Leona Lewis all filled in at various auditions, with rumours circulating about which star might land the permanent slot.

But the rumours finally ended last week, with the X-citing news that Nicole will become the fourth and final judge.

The over-the-moon singer said: “I’m so excited to join the UK X Factor family. It's where I got my start, so it feels great to come full circle.

“I can’t wait to see what talent the UK has to offer and to help inspire and bring out the best in these artists.”

We can’t wait to see how Nicole will fit in with the other judges on The X Factor UK panel. Watch out Tulisa – you’ve got some competition for your sexiest female crown!
