Amy Macdonald has admitted that she is "thrilled" with the success of her new album.
The singer's latest CD Life in a Beautiful Light entered at number three in the mid-week charts.
Amy admitted she was "anxious" over the release of her latest offering.
She told Digital Spy: "I'm just so happy with the album and so chuffed that people seem to be buying it.
"I'm very grateful for the positive response it's had so far."
Asked if she was confident of its success, she said: "You have no idea. The music industry is so fickle - one day you can be top of the pops and the next day nobody cares.
"I know my label have put in a lot of work, so we were hopeful, but obviously you never know. When we heard it was number three, we breathed a huge sigh of relief!"
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old confessed she does get anxious before releasing a new album.
She said: "I never get nervous when it comes to performing, but when it comes to releasing an album, it makes me so anxious and I lose a lot of sleep. I'll be happy when this week is over!"
