Robert Pattinson has confessed that he has struggled to prove himself as a credible actor.
Pattinson admitted that many film executives view him as "the guy from Twilight".
The Cosmopolis star told The Guardian that some Hollywood execs think that he is just a teen movie star.
He is quoted as saying: "It is surprising the amount of people who think I'm going to be really dumb.
"I think they think anyone who has done teen movies is just an idiot. I don't know, maybe I am [but] some of the best actors, if you talk to them, they're not the smartest people in the world."
Robert said that he hopes that starring in David Cronenberg's latest film help convince others that he is a credible actor.
He said: "When I got this part, every single article that came out, was, 'R-Patz's struggle for credibility!
"I don't understand who invented that thing, 'R-Patz', [but] I want to strangle them.
