Noel Gallagher might not strike you as a typical Strictly Come Dancing contestant, but show bosses certainly seemed to think he’d be a hit, and tried to get the former Oasis star to sign up to this year’s series.
Unfortunately the singer-songwriter declined the chance to dazzle on the dancefloor, saying he is “too busy” to compete on the show.
And while it might seem Noel would laugh at the chance to sizzle is sequins and fake tan, it seems he would actually have been quite keen to join the programme.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: I'd have done it an' all... Sadly though, I'm a bit busy. Maybe next time ..."
Other celebs thought to have been approached to join Strictly 2012 include EastEnders star Sid Owen and Charlie Brooks, aka Ricky and Janine Butcher in the popular soap.
Host Bruce Forsyth also said he thought his wife Wilnelia would be perfect on the show as she is a “marvellous” dancer – and Lady Forsyth admitted she would be up for joining Strictly although admitted it could be problematic.
She said: "I'd love to but I think it would be difficult, you know, with him being the host. It'd be very difficult."
