Spice Girls star Mel B certainly managed to spice up The X Factor auditions in London today, as the outspoken singer joined the judging panel.

Dressed in a khaki green vest top, skin-tight black satin trousers and sky-scraper heels, Mel showed off her curvaceous but trim figure as she walked the red carpet at the Event City venue.

The day before the star opted for a monochrome Stella McCartney dress, teamed up with extremely high Versace shoes.

Permanent judge Tulisa Contostavlos meanwhile showed off yet another floral mini dress from her collection, which she teamed up with a leather jacket and black heels.

Mel, who used to be known as “Scary Spice”, is just the latest star to join the permanent judges, Tulisa, Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh.

Previous guest judges have included former X Factor winner Leona Lewis, Mel’s fellow Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, and hot singer-of-the-moment Rita Ora.

And we’re sure Mel felt right at home on the judging panel – she’s had plenty of practice as a judge on X Factor Australia after all.

The Manchester auditions also saw Gary Barlow return to his day job. The Take That star and songwriter recently had the suepr-important job of overseeing the Diamond Jubilee Concert on Monday night, with stars including Stevie Wonder and Shirley Bassey entertaining the Royal Family and crowds of thousands.

Gaz dubbed the event "the biggest night of my life", and added: "It's going to take something pretty special to top it.”

And it seems Mel herself would have liked to have been part of the Jubilee celebrations, taking to Twitter yesterday to write: “Makes me sooo sad spice girls wasn't part of the Queen’s Jubilee, break my heart big time, I was so up for it, watched some of it on tv, amazing!”
