One Direction say The Wanted can be their support act

One Direction have joked that there is a place available on their arena tour for The Wanted.

Louis Tomlinson has said that the rival boyband could have a support slot on their US tour.

He told the Daily Mirror: "We are hoping that they'll still get on with us, because, you know, there is potentially a spot on our arena tour for them to support us.

"I was going to say something rude then. Or something sexual. But that's something The Wanted would say."

The two boybands have been sending digs at each other since they both found fame in the US earlier this year.

Meanwhile, The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes has suggested that his band would collaborate with One Direction on a charity single.

Responding to the offer, Niall Horan told Digital Spy: "It would be just like Blazin' Squad! See you at the crossroads, crossroads, crossroads! That was a tune. It would be funny to see that, but we'll see what happens."

One Direction are to release the Up All Night: The Live Tour DVD on May 28.
