Only Boys Aloud was third in tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent grand final.
Dancing dog act Ashleigh and Pudsey took the top spot, while pop/opera duo Jonathan and Charlotte were runners-up.
The Welsh male choir wowed with a stunningly moving performance of Calon Lan in tonight’s tense final, during which they battled against 10 other talented acts.
Choir leader Tim Rhys Evans praised the lads’ performance on the show.
Only Boys Aloud – a male choir made up of choir leader Tim and 141 boys aged between 14 and 19 – stunned the audience with their beautiful rendition of the song.
It led to amazing praise from the judges. David Walliams told Only Boys Aloud: “A week ago I said you could win this competition and after this I really think you can.”
Alesha Dixon was also a fan, telling the group: “That was very special… I can feel the passion from every one of you.”
A slightly tearful Amanda Holden, added: “I’ve always loved you… it’s not just a talent show in this country but around the world… I would be proud of you boys to represent the UK across the world.”
And Simon Cowell concluded the top class praise, saying: “This is why I love the show because I got emotional listening to a song I didn’t understand single word!”
He added: “I could tell how much it meant to every single one of you… so far this is the best performance of the night.”
Clearly the audience at home agreed with the judges’ comments, and voted Only Boys Aloud as their third favourite act of BGT 2012.
