Britain’s Got Talent semi-final 5 result: Aquabatique coast to final

The Olympic swim team’s loss is certainly our gain as four professional synchronised swimmers look set to make waves in the Britain’s Got Talent final.

Emily, Zoe, Jazmine and Elizabeth all former international synchronised swimmers for Great Britain performed in an outdoor “human aquarium” for James Bond themed piece that saw them all wearing sexy golden swim suits.

After the results of the public vote were announced Ryan O’Shaughnessy went through and it was up to the judges to choose between Aquabatique and hoop hunk Billy George.

David said: “I hate this bit and you always start with me… they are two quite similar acts… both really spectacular tonight. I’m choosing the act which I thought made the most impact tonight. Aquabatique”

Clearly torn Alesha said: “I don’t know I love you both.” She added: “Both of you bring originality to the show, both of you were enjoyed by all of us…. I love you girls but going to even up the score. Billy.”

New mum Amanda said: “The thing I’m loving here is that they are both variety acts… I loved both equally. If I have to go by tonight’s performance I’m going to go for Aquabatique.”

The last to vote, Simon said: “I could make the case for both. Billy thought you were absolutely brilliant tonight and I wouldn’t have expected that…you girls I thought you were amazing and I have never seen that before. The act I’m going to send through to the Saturday final is Aquabatique.”

Lost for words the delighted girls looked like fish out of water, managing only to say: “Amazing so excited!”
A defeated Billy said: “Getting to the top three is unreal thanks for having me.”

Going for gold on the show the water babes gave a five star performance earlier in the night that lead David Walliams, who had the talented aqua-bats at his wedding, to say: “That was all the things I love: swimming, James Bond and skimpy gold outfits. I’ve always wanted to do synchronised swimming but there’s no men doing it. Simon?”

Alesha Dixon gushed: “I think you’re brilliant. You’re an inspiration to people and I would love to see you go through.”

If their performance in the final goes as swimmingly well as this one, they will be in with a chance of winning £500,000 and performing at the Royal Variety Performance.

However competition is fierce and the other acts joining them for Saturday’s live show are Sam Kelly, Nu Sxool, Only Boys Aloud, Ashleigh and Pudsey, Molly Rainford, Loveable Rogues, Jonathan and Charlotte, and Kai and Natalia.
