Britain’s Got Talent semi-final 5 result: Ryan O’Shaughnessy in final

Ryan O’Shaughnessy has made it through to the Britain’s Got Talent 2012 final - scream ladies!

It has been an emotional journey for the 19-year-old student, who wowed during his first audition by pouring his heart out about a girl he was in love with, with a track called No Name.

'No Name' may not be interested in being anything more than friends with the Irish singer, but there’s a lot of love for him out there and tonight, Ryan is one step closer to realising his dream of becoming a superstar after winning the public vote.

He once again impressed the judges with a self-penned track tonight, entitled First Kiss.

David Walliams told him: “You are a major talent. You come on to the stage, you’ve done another original song. You know this girl who won’t go out with you? She’s doing you a favour cause you are writing the most beautiful songs for her.”

Alesha Dixon gushed: “Whatever happens in this competition, I believe you will be a successful songwriter. It’s her loss.”

Amanda Holden said: “As Adele proved, I think she did a multimillion selling album through heartache and hopefully you will go the same way. It’s great.”

Simon Cowell dubbed him the “dark horse of the competition.”

Upon learning he was in the final, he looked stunned and said the good news hasn't sunk in!

Ryan now joins Charlotte and Jonathon, Kai and Natalia, Ashleigh and Pudsey, Only Boys Aloud, Molly Rainford, Nu Sxool, Sam Kelly and Aquabatique, who won the judges vote tonight, in Saturday night’s grand finale.

Do you think he has what it takes to go all the way and take Jai McDowall’s Britain’s Got Talent crown?
