BGT semi final 5: hoop hunk Billy George runs rings around the judges

One of this year’s more unusual acts came in the form of dashing cyr wheel performer Billy George. The 21 year old yorkshire hunk wowed the judges in his initial audition by manouvring the 18 kilo steel wheel around the stage with him inside it in a head spinning performance that had us all feeling a bit dizzy! (nothing to do with the six pack he was flaunting of course).

Many people might joke about it, but Billy literally did run away to join the circus and for the past three years has been studying circus skills at college in London.

The dashing acrobat took to the semi final stagetonight  topless and barefoot wearing only some rolled up jeans that soon got all the ladies into a spin. With flame graphics in the background the hunk peformed to Mama Do the Hump by the Rizzle Kicks.

David kicked off the comments with difficulty as the audience were still whistling and cheering for the yound acrobat! The comedian said: “Billy.....my chair fell down in all the excitement – I don’t think you needed the ring you just came onwith your top off...!” He added: “it’s not just what you do, but how you do it... your personality shines through. I’d love to see you on Saturday with fewer clothes on!”

Alesha called him the “hooping version of Billy Elliot” telling David: “he’s got a great body - you fancy him too!”

Meanwhile, Amanda, looking hot under the collar, said: “You are kind of like the Peter Pan of the hoop world and I believe! I believe!”

Simon was similarly impressed with the sizzling cyr performer telling him: “On paper this is quite boring but it’s incredibly skilful... I thought what you did was absolutely brilliant.”

Talking to Ant and Dec after the judges’ comments a delighted Billy told the hosts: “Thank you and sorry to muy mum - she hates it when I havent got a top on!” We don’t!

Talking about his motivations for going on the show he said: “As I am one of only a few UK based artists doing wheel I think it’s something people won’t have seen before.” He’s got that right!

We suspect cyr wheel performing might suddenly become trendy after this man's semi final performance!

If the amazing acrobat won the competition he says he would use the £500,000 prize money to renovate his mum’s dance school saying: “She deserves it for helping me to become who I am.” Awww!

We wheely hoop the lovely lad makes it through to the live final on Saturday, but if he does he faces fierce competition in the form of Sam Kelly, Nu Sxool, Molly Rainford, Loveable Rogues, Only Boys Aloud, Ashleigh and Pudsey, Johnathan and Charlotte, and Kai and Natalia.

What did you think of Billy and his hoop? Does he have your head spinning? Leave us a comment and let us know your thoughts.
