Britain’s Got Talent: Molly Rainford stuns with moving pop classic

Molly Rainford certainly lived up to the title of mini-Mariah Carey tonight as she delivered a heartfelt performance of Roxette classic, It Must Have Been Love.

It’s a big song for someone so young to perform but she certainly did it justice with her mature performance and the judges had nothing but praise for this talented 11-year-old.

Dressed in a pink and silver sparkling ballerina dress, the confident tween held the audience in the palm of her hand with her controlled and flawless performance.

Simon Cowell said: “I really like you – you’re adorable. The version...I thought it was stunning.

“You controlled the room. It was absolutely beautiful.”

David Walliams agreed and went one better, telling the mini pop princess that she was the best child star they’ve had on the show.

Amanda Holden said: “Absolutely loved your interpretation of the song. Your voice is so pure. Well done darling.”

Alesha Dixon called her a little Mariah Carey.

The emotional 11-year-old said after her performance: “It makes me feel really proud of myself.”

Molly was one of the standout acts in the BGT auditions rounds when she performed Jennifer Hudson’s One Night Only.

If she makes it through to Saturday night’s final, she has high hopes of winning the series as she thinks it’s about time a young girl stole the show.

This little Essex lady also has some big plans for the prize money if the takes the top spot.

She said:“I would love to get a micro teacup Yorkshire terrier puppy!!! I would like to treat my family to a nice holiday because they’ve been so supportive during my BGT journey.  My mum said that I should put some in the bank to for my future.” Wise mummy.

But ultimately, miss Molly just wants to perform and she admitted singing for the Royal family would be “amazing” at the Royal Variety Performance.

Has Molly got what it takes to make it to the final? We’ll find out later tonight.
