Kristen Stewart has hurt her foot during reshoots for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2.

The actress turned up for an appearance on The Tonight Show in flat shoes explaining she has a "puncture wound" sustained during a hunt sequence in the film.

She said: "I wasn't trying to have, like, ultimate swag when I walked out - I hurt my foot.

"I wasn't trying to get out of wearing heels either. Puncture wound, promise!"

The actress also chatted about her parents, who both work in the industry.

Her father is a stage manager and her mother is a script supervisor, so she spent lots of time on film sets during her childhood.

Kristen said: "I grew up on a set, and it's not the easiest route to take.

"It was so random and by chance that things stumbled together and I'm doing this [as a career]."

Stewart latest film Snow White and the Huntsman is released on June 1, and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 opens in November.
