The countdown is on till the Britain’s Got Talent live shows kick off and we can’t wait to see who makes it to the final and is crowned 2012 champ.
The competition has been fierce this year with acts pulling out all the stops to impress the new look judging panel, consisting of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
But one act has remained a firm favourite with the bookies: pop opera duo Jonathan and Charlotte.
The talented teens took the world by storm when they appeared on the first episode of BGT this year, becoming YouTube sensations as music lovers dubbed them the ‘2012 Susan Boyle’.
Speaking of the comparison to the Scots singing sensation, Jonathan said: “I know I don’t look like a standard performer. I just went out there in my normal clothes, so I expected there would be a little bit of a reaction.
“I was hoping our performance would show them [the judges] differently. It’s great to be compared to her [Susan Boyle], although we want to be seen as individual in our own way.”
Despite a host of incredible singers, dancers and dazzling dancing dogs in the episodes since, Jonathan and Charlotte have remained the bookies’ favourites to win the series.
According to William Hill, the singers are 3/1 favourites to take the crown from current champ Jai McDowall, with 9-year-old Malakai Paul, dancing dog act Ashleigh and Pudsey, and melodic heartthrobs The Loveable Rogues all in second place, at 12/1.
Welsh all-boys choir Only Boys Aloud, dance troupe Twist and Pulse Dance Company and Scottish singer Paige Turley are currently third favourites, at 14/1.
But we don’t even know if all of these acts will make it through to the live shows yet. Is there a hidden gem lurking that show bosses are going to pull out this weekend?
We’ll find out when Britain’s Got Talent airs on Saturday night at 8.45.
