The hunt is on for the next big X Factor star - but if you missed the open day auditions which have been staged across the country recently don’t worry, as wannabe singers will get a second chance to try out when the Mobile Auditions roll into town.

The touring X Factor Mobile Auditions van kicked off on the hunt for talented solo artists and vocal groups on April 25 in Plymouth, and is set to arrive in Scotland tomorrow, May 2, in Edinburgh before travelling to Aberdeen, Dundee and Inverness. It will then continue on its journey around the UK, before making the last stop in Brighton on May 13.

The search to find the next pop superstar is now bigger than ever before, with the touring auditions offering budding artists – who either couldn’t make the arena auditions, or live far away from the venues – the chance to try out too.

Take That star and multi-award winning singer-songwriter Gary Barlow, who has been confirmed as a judge on the 2012 series of The X Factor, thinks the Mobile Auditions are a great way to hunt out the best singers around.

He said: “We want to make sure we find all the talent the country has to offer and the extra auditions allow even more people to try out.”

Stars including Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis and JLS have all  gone on to forge out successful careers in the music industry after making their name on X Factor.

If you fancy following in their footsteps, you can find out more details about The X Factor Mobile Auditions, including locations and times of auditions can be found on the X Factor website.
