Britain’s Got Talent: good golly Miss Molly reveals shock at getting through

11-year-old Molly Rainford from Essex blew the judges and audience away with her powerful rendition of Jennifer Hudson’s One Night Only on Saturday night’s show.

Alesha Dixon said the talented little lady with the big voice was her favourite singer so far and Simon Cowell had nothing but praise for the star-in-the-making, saying: “I like you, because you’ve got soul. I really do believe that.”

With four well-deserved yeses, Molly is through to the next round of the show – but how does it feel to be one of the most talked about acts of BGT 2012?

Delighted Molly said: “I am so shocked and overwhelmed. I am over the moon.”

Molly told the judges that she loves going to church with her gran and all that singing in the pews has clearly helped develop her voice, but where does that raw talent come from?

Molly giggled: “I’m not really sure who I got my talent from because not many people in my family are that musical really.”

After receiving a standing ovation for heartfelt performance, Molly is now tipped for the top, but has she got what it takes to make it to the live shows?

Could Miss Molly go one step further and become the youngest ever winner of BGT? Now that would be something special. Use our comments system to give your thoughts on this talented performer.
