Coronation Street and Emmerdale win at British Soap Awards

Coronation Street won seven prizes at this year's British Soap Awards including the gong for Best Single Episode for Becky's exit.

Katherine Kelly, who played Becky McDonald in the Weatherfield drama, took the award from Best Exit.

Becky left the cobbled streets for Barbados with a new man.

Michelle Keegan, who plays Tina McIntyre in the soap, took home the award for the Sexiest Female again.

Alison King won Best Actress for her portrayal of factory owner Carla Connor, who was raped by her fiance.

The Best Actor award went to Danny Miller for his portrayal of Emmerdale's Aaron Livesy, who helped his paralysed partner Jackson to die.

Jackson's Choice was named as the year's Best Storyline.

The Dales drama won a third award fro the most Spectacular Scene of the Year for John and Moria Barton's car accident.

Villain of the Year went to Andrew Lancel for his portrayal of Frank Foster who raped his fiancee Carla.

Coronation Street's Stephanie Cole, who stars as Sylvia Goodwin, took the Best Comedy Performance award.
