Thousands of singers and bands audition for Britain’s Got Talent, but with music mogul Simon Cowell and popstar Alesha Dixon on the panel, the hopefuls need to have something really special to stand out from the crowd.
Hoping to prove they know more than complex algebra were a group of Oxbridge boffins who auditioned on tonight’s show.
Truly Medley Deeply are a trio from Oxford and London made up of 21 year old Masters students set on bringing geek chic to Britain’s Got Talent and the nation.
While they might look more at home in tweed blazers in the library these boys know how to play a tune and came to the Cardiff auditions in the hopes of getting an A+ from Simon and his fellow judges.
The boys came on stage playing an accoustic medley of popular songs such as Papa Americano and Faithless’ I Can’t Get No Sleep.
After the applause David Walliams told them: “You come on like boffins and then you make this incredible noise.”
Meanwhile singer Alesha Dixon told them: “There’s something really sweet and quirky and different about you.”
The boys already have a sizeable You Tube following and have performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, so you don’t have to be a boffin so see they have talent, but what did you think? Does Truly Medley Deeply make the grade? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.
