Britain’s Got Talent: Martin Steele doesn’t have it in the bag

Britain’s Got Talent always attracts some unusual acts, and this year has been no different.

So far we’ve had basketball gymnasts, a group of sailors and a man who’d lost his keys and phone, and the latest wondrous act to take to the stage was Martin Steele.

So what was his unusual talent I hear you ask? He sang in a bag…yes, really.

The 39-year-old has been singing in a bag for five years and entered the show as he wanted people to see his ‘unique abilities’, and although the audience loved his performance, the judges were left less than impressed.

Speaking before his performance, Martin said: “I believe in general that my act is outstanding. Give me two minutes and I’ll give you my world.”

Simon and Alesha were more dumbstruck than amazed, however, and all three judges buzzed Martin off before he had finished his rendition of Lonely.

Unzipping his bag, Martin waited to learn his fate, and David was full of enthusiasm, telling him: “I probably would like to see that again. I liked it, it’s a yes.”

The bag singer’s dreams were dashed, however, with two no votes from Simon and Alesha.

Oh well Martin, there’s always next year!
