Rodney offers to cook Ashley some breakfast, realising he's just spent the night in the church. Ashley's desperate to make things right again. Meanwhile, Turner's stressed out when he visits Sandy. Laurel and Sandy struggle to keep it all together as Sandy prepares for a ceremonial dinner. Laurel's distressed when she returns to work to find out everyone's blaming Marlon for being a homewrecker after hearing about their affair. Marlom comes to see if she's OK at work as they both blame themselves for the way things have turned out. Laurel doesn't want to be near him so he takes his leave.
Meanwhile, Brenda's mortified to find out Rodney's let Ashley stay with him. Edna reckons the police should be involved but there's some disagreement. Edna visits Mulverry to explain what she's done and the police arrive to investigate an alleged assault. Sandy denies the alleged story and glares at Edna. Ashley wants to head home but stops when he sees the police car, preparing to meet his fate. The police are just about to go when Ashley arrives, wanting to cooperate fully and Sandy's distraught. As he's arrested on suspicion of assault, Ashley quickly pleads for forgivness from Sandy.
Chas feels guilty as she supports Marlon through his situation with Laurel. Cameron's uneasy about Chas coming as the Dingles celebrate the completion of the garage. Chas calls up Debbie to tell her she's busy and can't make it as she feels guilty. Debbie hopes things might get back to normal as she thanks everyone for coming along. Cameron's stricken with guilt when Debbie tells him how lucky she is to have him. Chas apologises to Debbie later on in the pub and blanks Cameron. He's shocked when Chas tells him it's over for them.
Also, Amy's worried when Pollard tells Brenda she makes him happy and he wants to make a go of it. Brenda accepts the apology and Pollard says he wants to announce their relationship officially. An unhappy Amy watches as they share kiss.
