As The Loveable Rogues performed their track Love Sick on Britain’s Got Talent at the weekend, we’re not ashamed to admit we fell in love with the cheeky chaps.
Thankfully, so did the judges as Eddie Brett, Sonny Jay and Té Eugene received three yeses from Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
Speaking after their performance, the lads, who met at college, admitted they were most keen to impress Simon Cowell, as he is music royalty.
Simon had nothing but praise for the boys, telling them: “It was like listening to a Madness record again. I like the fact you’ve got the ukulele. Everything seems well balanced in this group and you look good.”
The Loveable Rogues were most excited when they received a standing ovation from the audience, admitting it was a “fantastic feeling.”
Té was particularly impressed with Alesha Dixon, but we don’t think that had anything to do with her judging skills…
Asked to describe themselves, Té insisted Eddie’s the funny guy and Sonny’s the Justin Bieber of the band (much to Sonny’s disgust).
The Loveable Rogues have been gigging for the past year but has BGT provided the platform they need to become the next big thing? Judging by the reaction from fans on Twitter on Saturday night, we think it’s safe to say there’s a lot of love for those Loveable Rogues.
