When it comes to ballroom dancing, they don’t come much more dedicated than 16-year-old Kai and 15-year-old Natalia.
The talented teens have been dancing together for two years, dedicating their lives to a gruelling training regime, rehearsing six days a week… but on Saturday night it paid off.
The BFFs (they’re not dating) wowed the Britain’s Got Talent judges with their modern take on a ballroom performance to Christina Aguilera’s Show Me How You Burlesque.
After receiving four yeses from the judges, they admitted they were delighted with the comments they received, especially from former Strictly champ and judge Alesha Dixon, who told them: “Do you know what I really loved about you guys was that it felt age appropriate. There’s this perception with ballroom that it’s stuffy and old and actually what you just did there was really modern and current and fresh. I wasn’t expecting to like and I actually I really, really did. You’re fantastic dancers.”
Determined to make ballroom modern and relevant for their generation, Natalia said: “We mixed up dances together and how my skirt came off in the middle in the dance, it made a bit of a change.”
Speaking of their passion for dancing, Kai added: “We’ve known each other for just over two years now and we spend virtually six out of the seven days a week together.”
The young stars even live together, as Natalia left her family behind in Cyprus to team up with Kai and follow her dancing dream.
