Pop and R&B princesses beware: there’s a new little lady on the block who blew the Britain’s Got Talent judges away with her edgy performance on tonight’s show.
Say hello to Lauren Thalia – the adorable 12-year old with a big voice and an even bigger guitar.
Before taking to the stage, Lauren revealed: “When I was really young I used to always sing to songs on the telly and I really want to be able to do it as my job.”
As she took to the stage, Alesha Dixon said: “Aw cute.”
But don’t be fooled by the cheeky grin and sweet personality. This little lady’s song of choice was a unique version of Soulja Boy’s Turn My Swag On, and she certainly did just that.
After receiving a standing ovation from the audience, Carmen Electra, who was covering for Amanda Holden while she was on maternity leave, said: “Britain really does have talent. Girl you rock! You sang such a gangster song.”
Alesha agreed: “You’re as cute as a button. To hear you singing about get your swag on? You are adorable, that was very well done.”
David Walliams said: “You’re a little angel and I like that you’re like a very small Alanis Morissette. I really liked it.”
Even Simon Cowell was impressed, telling the delighted songstress: “I like it when kids your age choose the song rather than your mum and dad choosing it for you.
“I like the fact your guitar is too big for you that you couldn’t play it that well and that there was a little break in your voice, as actually it made it more believable. And because you’re posh and talking about Swag, I like it even better.”
After praise like that, it will come as no surprise that lovely Lauren was awarded “four big fat yeses!”
As she excitedly ran off to stage to her proud mum, Simon commented: “I loved that version of the song.” Congratulations Lauren.
