Britain’s Got Talent was more dazzling than ever when the Showbears took to the stage on Saturday night.

We loved loved loved their performance of We’re Sailor Men, almost as much as David Walliams did.

After joining the Bears for the routine, the BGT judge may just have landed himself his next role – the Showbears want him for their troupe!

Dancer David Dale said: “David MADE our performance! He’s a secret Showbear and he’s welcome to join our troupe. We’re actually making a sequined captain outfit to send to him.” He will love it.

Speaking about watching their performance air, the Bear said: “We all watched it separately from the comfort of our sofas. We spent the entire show texting one another. I thought I looked really fat. I always thought I was the slimmest in the group. That’s it – I’m joining WeightWatchers!”

And they were delighted that they managed to win over a sceptical Simon Cowell.

“It feels incredible. I’m very critical of my performances so I was keen to impress Simon. He smiled at us the minute we walked on stage, so I knew we’d be okay. I really love how brutally honest he is, but Simon’s softer this year - I think David Walliams has brought out the best in him,” said David.

Fans have been going wild for the Showbears since Saturday, and David admitted: “It’s lovely for an act like The Showbears to be accepted by the public. Twenty years ago, you wouldn’t have got away with an act like ours on TV. I like how people laugh with us, rather than at us.”

And what’s The Showbears’ showbiz mantra? “We’re all about living life to the full.” What lovely chaps.
