With dance acts from around the country auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent the competition is tough but dance duo Strictly Wheels think they have what it takes to stand out from the crowd.
Strictly Wheels are Gary and Paula who contracted MRSA when she had pneumonia which damaged her lower spine and pelvis and meant she had to use a wheel chair.
Paula is determined not to let this change her life and 18 months ago she started dancing seriously with best friend Gary.
The pair took to the stage wearing matching retro American t-shirts and gave a beautiful dance performance to Alicia Keys’ hit Empire State of Mind.
The judges and audience were immediately won over and the delighted pair were given a huge applause.
David told them: “I just thought that was amazing, you turned what might have been a negative into a positive and you did things that two dancers don’t normally do. It was absolutely fantastic.”
Amanda agreed saying: “How you danced, your control of that chair and the muscle is unbelievable. You were fantastic.”
Simon told them: “I thought it was going to be a bit uncomfortable, a bit slow – but then Paula kicks off – you are much better than Gary - very good I think you’re fun.”
Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon agreed saying: “Such a great connection, surprising, refreshing, unique.”
With four yeses the talented pair are through to the next round and in with a chance at performing in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.
