Britain’s Got Talent show four: Paige Turley stuns at Scottish auditions

14 year old Paige Turley stunned the judges and audience at the Edinburgh auditions with a beautiful version of Bon Iver’s Skinny Love that had a her poor old dad in tears backstage.

This is the first year the Britain’s Got Talent team have come to Edinburgh, usually visiting Glasgow where Susan Boyle was discovered. It seemed like their journey east might have been in vain when act after act failed to impress Simon, Amanda, Alesha and David.

The talented teenager was a breath of fresh air when she stepped on stage at this year’s auditions. Looking nervous the young star in the making told the judges she had started singing three years ago and loved it.

She sang a a beautiful and original version of the Bon Iver song Skinny Love that soon shook Simon out of his grumpy mood.

After the applause had died down singer Alesha told her: “You are adorable! I love your song choice so different and refreshing… I think you should be really proud of that performance and your family should be proud because you just blew us away.”

Comedian David Walliams agreed saying: “I think you look and sound like a popstar” meanwhile new mum Amanda Holden told her: “I think your voice is absolutely amazing I think you’ve got a really bright future ahead of you well done.”

Even Simon was impressed gushing: “I think you’re absolutely fabulous!” He added: “I love the fact that you didn’t do a direct copy of the song. It sounds very different to a lot of people I’ve heard before. You have a really interesting unique voice. I really really, like you.” Praise indeed from Mr X Factor!

With four yeses pop princess in the making Paige Turley flew through to the next round, but does she have what it takes to be as big a success as Susan Boyle?
