Dancing on Ice: Jennifer Ellison admits show made her believe in herself

Jennifer Ellison is one celebrity who truly went on a ‘journey’ during Dancing on Ice 2012.

Despite her incredible dance skills, the ballet beauty was extremely nervous during the first few weeks of the show, but she managed to turn this around and in the latter half of the series, emerged as a joy to watch.

The actress was voted out in last night’s semi-final and despite her tears, she admitted she was extremely proud of what she had achieved.

Speaking after the show, Jen said: “I’m so proud of myself. I couldn’t have gone out on a better skate so it’s been a fantastic journey and I’ve loved every second of it.

“I’ve improved leaps and bounds since the start - I mean I literally couldn’t even skate on my own at the beginning, so to do that routine tonight and do the solo skate, I can hold my head high.”

One of the things viewers enjoyed about Jen’s time on the show was the friendship she built up with skating partner Dan Whiston.

She beamed as she said: “I’ve got a mate for life, we’ve got a fantastic friendship.”

Dan agreed, insisting “I’m so so proud of Jen.”

The 28-year-old isn’t hanging up her skates yet, as she is about to embark on the DOI 2012 tour.

It’s fantastic news for the yummy mummy, who credits her Ice experience with not only helping her fitness and figure, but also giving her a new found confidence in life.

She said: “I never in a million years thought I’d be able to do what I‘ve done. It’s a massive achievement; it’s made me believe in myself again. I’m over the moon.”

Although she won’t be skating in next Sunday’s final, Jen will be cheering on from the sidelines and she wishes new friends Jorgie Porter, Matthew Wolfenden and Chico the best.

“I’m wishing all the guys really, really good luck for the final. It’s going to be a cracking show so I’m really excited.”

 SO LONG JEN
