Scottish singer Darius lands Beast of a role Scots star Darius Campbell has landed his dream acting role in America – a part in Beauty and the Beast.

According to reports, the tall, dark and handsome star will play the part of the Beast in a modern version of the classic story, in the new ABC network series.

It’s the perfect job for Darius, who moved across the pond to be with wife Natasha Henstridge.

The glamorous couple wed in a low-key ceremony in Santa Barbara on Valentine’s Day last year, and at the time, Darius said: "No one knew we were there and that sense of it just being for us was very exciting - it felt a little bit naughty and secretive.

"We realised with everyone's schedules, it was easier to do something romantic and special just for us."

Darius shot to fame when he auditioned for TV talent show Popstars, back in 2001, with an eyebrow raising rendition of Britney Spears’ Hit Me Baby One More Time.

He went on to have chart success with single Colourblind, before winning Popstar to Operastar in 2010.

Darius has also enjoyed presenting roles, including a stint on STV’s The Hour.
