Dermot O'Leary: It would take a lot to do US X Factor

Dermot O'Leary says it would "take a lot" for him to quit 'The X Factor' to host the US version.

The 38-year-old presenter - who has fronted the ITV1 talent show since 2007 - "loves" working on the programme and admits it would be a tough decision if he was asked to replace axed Steve Jones on the American series.

Dermot is yet to be confirmed to host the UK programme for another series, but he is confident of landing the job.

He told Digital Spy: "I've been on the rollercoaster before, so you don't really stress about it too much. I love doing that gig, I feel that it's my gig, but you know, we'll see."

Gary Barlow recently explained he has been holding secret talks with ITV1 bosses since December about the possibility of returning to 'The X Factor' as a judge.

The Take That singer - who sat alongside Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh on the panel of last year's show - said: "I started talks two weeks before the last one finished. We are talking."

Series chiefs are thought to be looking to create a format that would enable Gary - who mentored runner-up Marcus Collins on last year's show - to work on a new album and possibly even go on tour with the boy band as well as be a judge on the programme.
