Jennifer Ellison looked red hot when she performed to Fever on Dancing on Ice last night.
Little did she know that by the end of the routine she would be seeing red, literally, as blood poured from head.
Jennifer’s elegant lines and flexibility, perfected through years of dance training, saw the heel of her skate end up in the back of her head as she performed the scorpion kick – oooooh!
Ever the professional, brave Jen carried on, but as the recap of her sizzling performance ran, she was whisked off the ice to have her head looked at.
Worried partner Dan Whiston explained: “At the end of the routine, Jen did the scorpion kick. She threw her head really high and her heel of her skate went into the back of her head and when I did the last thing, and she went into the splits, I looked down and I could see blood.
“She’s in really good hands now. She’s made of hard stuff. Just very scary.”
Thankfully the medics were able to reassure Jennifer and patch over her wound.
Speaking in her dressing gown at the end of the show, the exhausted but relieved star said: “This is a message for everyone online who has been in touch to see if I’m ok. I’m absolutely fine.
“I’ve been glued back together. I’ve got a bit of a headache and I’m sure I’m going to feel worse in the morning but thank you so much, it means a lot. Hopefully I won’t have to do my routine again.”
Thankfully Jennifer and Dan didn’t end up in the skate off – that would just have been cruel, especially as Jen earned her highest score to date, 19 points, for her Valentine’s themed performance.
Chemmy Alcott and Rosemary Conley ended up in the bottom two and Rosemary became the latest star to hang up her skates.
