Britain's Got Talent: Amanda left red-faced by phone call. Pic: ITV
Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden was left embarrassed when her mum rang her during the auditions.
The actress was back at work on the panel just three weeks after giving birth to her daughter Hollie.
The audience had been ordered to switch off their mobile phones and started to boo Amanda when hers rang during filming.
Holden decided not to bring her daughter with her to the Edinburgh auditions but left her at home with her mum Judith.
As she fetched her mobile from her handbag, Simon Cowell said: "Well, you have just had a baby. But you must really apologise because that is so unprofessional."
Red-faced Amanda told the audience at Edinburgh's Festival Theatre: "I've just had a baby and was being told that everything was OK."
Meanwhile, kind-hearted Cowell came to the aid of sound recordist John Hagenstede.
He got news his girlfriend Lisa Stewart had gone into labour in Surrey. After finding out there were no flights or trains available, Cowell offered John the use of his private jet.
The music mogul then laid on a car from Luton Airport to the hospital just in time for the birth of Jude.
John said: "I got there with moments to spare.
"I'm so grateful to Simon. Without him there's no way I'd have been there."
