Coronation Street star Katy Cavanagh has revealed that her soap character Julie Carp’s parenting techniques will be ridiculous.
Julie and her boyfriend Brian Packham find out this week that Julie is pregnant with their first child, and although Katy reckons that Julie will make a great mum, she thinks that it will also be very chaotic.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, she explained: “Julie will be ridiculous. She’ll take everything people tell her literally. It will drive her sister Eileen absolutely mad!
“Julie will work hard at being a mum, but it’ll be quite chaotic. She’ll probably end up leaving the child in the supermarket!
“She’ll adore her baby though – it won’t be left wanting in the love department.”
The course of true love and impending motherhood won’t run smoothly for poor Julie, however, when Brian accuses her of cheating on him as he has had a vasectomy and can’t father children. Oh dear…
