Sparks have been flying between Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon on the Britain's Got Talent panel…and not the good type.

The judges clashed after Alesha dubbed one of show boss Simon’s favourite hopefuls as a “pub” act.

Simon thought the musician – who played a couple of guitars and a tambourine at the same time – was “absolutely brilliant”.

But former Strictly Come Dancing judge and new BGT recruit Alesha – who agreed the act was “talented and clever” – said she would enjoy the entertainment in a pub, but wouldn’t want to see it on stage again.

The fiery pair came to loggerheads, but feisty Alesha stood her ground. We knew she’d be just the girl to sort Mr Cowell out!

The argument came as the judges watched acts audition in London. US star Carmen Electra, who is standing in for Amanda Holden temporarily, is currently helping to select the best of the UK’s talent alongside Simon, Alesha and fellow judge David Walliams.

But according to reports, the audience hasn’t taken too warmly to sexy Carmen, and have been shouting for Amanda to return to the panel.

Amanda suffered complications while giving birth to her second daughter, Hollie, and was in a critical condition in hospital for three days.

But she has made an amazing recovery and is expected to return to the BGT panel when the auditions roll into Edinburgh this Saturday.
