Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has revealed that she would never want to appear on reality television.
The 21-year-old actress is set to leave the cobbles this week when her soap character, Rosie Webster, dumps her boyfriend Jason Grimshaw and heads for a new life in London after being chosen to take part in a new reality TV show.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Helen insisted that she won’t be doing the same and said: “I couldn’t do a programme where you’re being watched 24/7 like Big Brother or I’m a Celebrity…
“I would like to learn a new skill, so Strictly Come Dancing would be good, but I can’t dance at all, so it’s very unlikely I’d do that, and there’s no way I could be in Dancing on Ice. It would be far too terrifying!”
Helen has been playing the part of Rosie since she was nine years old, and she is leaving the show so she can pursue other interests and free herself of her soap character.
“Now I just want to be Helen. It’s time for me to be myself,” she said.
Catch Coronation Street on STV from 7.30pm on Mondays and Fridays and from 8.30pm on Thursdays.
