Jorgie Porter gained the highest score on Dancing on Ice 2012 so far last night, 24 points, when she took pop week by storm with a stunning performance to Britney Spears' ...Baby One More Time, complete with schoolgirl inspired uniform.
Katarina Witt told the actress: “It was packed with steps and lifts. I could see you concentrating but enjoying the performance.”
Louie Spence, who scored Jorgie 8.5, said: “Sometime being last is best as you know what to do. You gave it speed, elegance and grace. I loved the combination steps, you’ve got a great partnership but you need to keep pushing yourself. This is really exciting.”
Robin Cousins agreed, adding: “The routine was great but you were not always in control. It wasn’t your best but was a solid performance.”
Now Jorgie is the bookies favourite to win the series, taking over from Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden, who last night scored 23 out of 30, despite struggling to rehears due to injury.
According to paddypower.com, Jorgie is 11/10 favourite to win, with Matthew in second place at 15/8 and Chico and Sebastien Foucan joint third at 8/1.
Speaking after the show, Louie said: “There’s definitely a fight on between Matthew, Sebastien, Chico and Jorgie. These people are really showing that they’ve got enormous potential.”
