Holden on: Amanda Holden is said to be feeling
Amanda Holden is said to be feeling “upbeat” following her near-death childbirth drama, and is reportedly expected to return to Britain’s Got Talent next week, when the auditions come to Edinburgh.
The 40-year-old star gave birth to Hollie Rose on January 23, but suffered serious complications and was in a critical condition in hospital for three days.
She was discharged and allowed to return home earlier this week – and is now said to be feeling well enough to return to the BGT panel, according to PA.
A friend said: "It is fantastic how well she is recovering, and she is feeling upbeat and very happy. Amanda is overwhelmed by all the lovely messages she has received."
No exact details of Amanda’s childbirth complications have been confirmed, but she is believed to have lost a large amount of blood, and received a transfusion.
The star is thought to have had a healthy pregnancy, but has suffered problems in the past, including going through the trauma of delivering a stillbirth baby in 2011, and suffering a miscarriage in 2010.
Little Hollie, who weighed in at 6lb 1oz, is believed to have arrived slightly early and was put in an incubator for a short period, but is healthy.
The new arrival is a second daughter for Amanda and her husband Chris Hughes, who are parents to six-year-old Lexi.
