Coronation Street star Simon Gregson has revealed that a war is about to break out between his soap character Steve McDonald and his new wife Tracy Barlow.
Steve and Tracy have been at loggerheads since Tracy tricked Steve into marrying her and forcing the love of his life to leave Weatherfield, but the pair are now living together at Number 13 and Steve has been plotting to bring his evil wife down.
Speaking to the soap’s official website, Simon revealed: “He’s got her in his sights and he’s not going to get tripped up again. He’s aiming for the kill.
“She threatens to become the neighbour from hell but she’s pushed Steve so far that he is now the devious monkey. Let’s see who wins this battle!”
This week will see Steve dividing the house they share into two flats, with one of them living upstairs and the other downstairs, much to Tracy’s annoyance, and Simon thinks that Steve is coping in the best way that he can with the situation.
“Steve isn’t very good at all at the moment,” Simon said. “He true love has flown, quite literally, and he’s living with the witch at Number 13. All is not well.
“He’s completely stuck with Tracy, she won’t move out of the house and he doesn’t know what to do. He can’t stand the sight of her – he hates her!”
