The 17th annual National Television Awards took place in London’s 02 Arena tonight, with the top TV stars turning out in force to find out which stars, presenters and programmes had picked up gongs.
TV celebrities battled it out across 14 different categories, in the hope of winning one of the awards, which are selected entirely by the public, who vote in a nationwide poll for their favourite stars.
It was a glitzy and glamorous affair, with the cream of the TV crop turning up in their finest to walk the red carpet.
In the end, top shows including Coronation Street, Downton Abbey, Outnumbered, The X Factor, Michael Mcintyre’s Comedy Roadshow and This Morning were among the programmes honoured with awards.
Ant and Dec won the coveted Entertainment Presenter award for the 11th year in a row – yes really! – and Doctor Who stars Matt Smith and Karen Gillan both picked up Drama Performance gongs.
