Top honour: Ant and Dec won the coveted Best Entertainment Presenter award for the 11th year in a row at the NTAs
Ant and Dec have lifted the title of best Entertainment Presenter at the National Television Awards, for the 11th year in a row.
The Geordie duo, who front shows including I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, Britain’s Got Talent and Red or Black, beat off competition from other presenters including Dermot O’Leary, Keith Lemon and Michael McIntyre.
After being presented their award by Kermit the Frog, Dec said: “We’ve been lucky enough to win a couple of these over the years and I tell you, every time you sit there and hear your name read out, it feels like the first time we’ve ever won it.
”We’re so honoured and humbled to have gotten your votes.”
Ant added: “Can I also say while we’re here a massive thank you to Sir Bruce Forsyth for allowing us to come on and do the opening (performance) with him.
”If we have a career half as long or half as successful as him we’ll both be very happy.”
After hearing the news, Dermot, who had been off stage as he was also nominated for the coveted gong, joked with the boys: “Yeah, you’d better run!”
This is the 11th year in a row that Ant and Dec have won the award – so we’re sure the Geordie duo will be toasting their amazing run tonight.
The 17th NTAs were held at the 02 Arena in London, with over a thousand famous faces from the world of TV in attendance.
The annual awards ceremony sees the cream of the TV crop honoured for their performances over the last 12 months, with every winner in each of the 14 categories chosen by the public, who vote in a nationwide poll.
