The Duchess of Cambridge has been invited by Prince Charles and Camilla to stay with them while Prince William is on duty in the Falklands.

Catherine is said to be "dreading" William's six-week tour of duty as a search-and-rescue pilot.

It is thought that she will not stay in the couple's home in Anglesey but move to Kensington Palace while her husband is away.

She plans to keep herself busy with visits to each of her new charities.

As well as Camilla's invitation to stay, Catherine will also spend some time at her family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire.

A source told the Daily Mail: "Camilla sees Kate as another daughter.

"She knows Kate is concerned about William being away and has told her she is welcome at Clarence House whenever she wants."

The Duchess of Cambridge is currently on holiday with her family on the island of Mustique.

Prince William could not get time off work but it is thought he will fly out after he finishes his weekly shift to spend some time with her before he goes to the Falklands.
