Ronan Keating wants reality show judging role

Ronan Keating would love to be a judge on a reality show in Europe.

The Boyzone singer - who currently works alongside Melanie B, Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Guy Sebastian on the Australian version of 'X Factor' - admits he would love to be closer to his home and family in Ireland.

He told BANG Showbiz: "I'd love a gig in Europe, to be close to the family. I'd love to be at home. If I was in London doing any of the shows it would be great, but hey, I've gotta be grateful."

However, he is unsure if he would be able to work on the British version if Gary Barlow were to stay on the judging panel.

He said: "Gary is a good pal of mine but I don't think they'd want both of us on the panel. But it would be great."

Ronan also reveals Simon Cowell closely monitors all the shows and gives his feedback.

He added: "Simon is quite involved, he oversees it all. We met him in the summer last year and told us what he was looking for. He's very hands-on with it. He watches all the shows, our show in Australia and comments on them."
