Coronation Street’s Tyrone is about to get the surprise of his life, when he finds out his copper girlfriend Kirsty is pregnant.
The news comes at a rather awkward time for Ty though, as he finds out about the baby just after dumping Kirsty for threatening his good friend and housemate Tina.
Convinced that the real reason she’s been given the elbow is because Tyrone is cheating on her with Tina, Kirsty jumps in her police car after spotting the friends going for a curry, determined to catch them in the act.
“Kirsty assumes they’re on a date,” Alan Halsall who plays Tyrone, told Inside Soap. “She turns proper psycho and chases them in a police car. She puts the blue light on, but Tina won’t pull over because she wants to go to a police station to report her.
“And when Tina slams on the brakes at a red light, Kirsty crashes into them.”
After passing out at the wheel of her car, Kirsty is rushed to hospital, and when Ty goes to visit his ex, is given the shock news that she’s carrying his baby.
“Tyrone only goes to see Kirsty to make sure she’s all right after the crash – and then all his dreams of being a father are answered,” Alan explained.
“This changes everything for Tyonre – his one ambition has always been to become a family man.”
With a baby on the way and a chance at happiness it looks like Ty could be about to forgive Kirsty.
But while relations between this pair smooth over, things become rocky between Tina and Tyrone when she reports Kirsty to the police – and has her suspended from the force!
